Expressions of interest are invited from applicants interested in an opportunity to join the School Learning Support Officer (SLSO) staff at Holman Place School during the calendar year of 2020.
We are looking for interested applicants for an SLSO to work at the school with specific students across the K-12 setting. Student focus will be on wellbeing, literacy and numeracy and Aboriginal cultural activities. The position would be in a temporary capacity from term 1 until term 4 2020 for one day per week. The successful applicant will be working alongside teaching staff across various spaces across the school. This is an identified position.
Holman Place School is a K-12 school focussed on implementing positive education initiatives to support students with additional and complex needs.
Statement of duties
School Learning Support Officers have a key role working with teachers to support students with diverse needs.
Duties focus primarily on assisting teachers in the implementation of personalised learning programs and support in providing opportunities for children with special needs. Specific role statements for SLSOs are available upon request.
Selection criteria
· Demonstrated experience working with students to support the wellbeing and cultural needs of students.
· Proven ability to work with teachers to support students with diverse learning needs, including those with challenging behaviours, emotional, physical, sensory and/or intellectual disabilities.
· Effective communication and organisation skills.
· Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and contribute to the school and wider community.
